Our 2026 Winter adventure students will travel to Paleolithic time and discover Cave art and the hands that created these works, along with Artemisia Gentileschi, Katsushika Hokusai, Hilma af Klint, Amedeo Modigliani, and Louise Bourgeois. Students will develop not only their historian skills, but also use their lens of history when engaging with lively presentations and hands-on artwork. Our last class will be a fun portfolio presentation, and a little Salad bowl game with parents.
Learning and Skills Content
With each topic, we will utilize books, picture cards, group discussions, art work, clay modeling, writing featuring contrasting and comparing along with honing art analysis and theory. Each week we will sample food from each period of time.
No Supplies Needed
We will provide tools for writing, coloring, gluing, clay, and mixed materials for artwork. A snack featuring the time period of art will be provided.
When and Where
Thursdays: January 15 - March 5, 3:30 - 5:00 at Westbrook Elementary Bethesda Md.
Additional dates can be added, flexible locations, and tailored auxiliary programs for schools.
