Take your child on an adventure around the world to explore exciting countries and cultural themes!
Provide that extra academic development with individually guided tutoring lessons!
Weekly themes
Each quarterly adventure centers around a learning experience by journeying to a world country - or - examining art history. Each adventure will feature carefully designed activities. With our world countries adventure, we will discover the geography, history, and unique cultural qualities. The art history adventure will reveal art, cultural movements, and artists that shaped the world of art. Students learn through hands-on experiences which deepen their knowledge and supports concrete learning. Each week offers exciting activities, group collaboration, robust discussions, and cultural awareness.
Tutoring
Looking for that individualized academic boost on a specific subject for your child? Private tutoring sessions for 4-8 year-old children is designed to cultivate the joy-of-learning while building academic confidence. Carefully designed materials support learning through hands-on interaction between the lesson content and discovery. Prior to our tutoring sessions, I will meet with parents to identify your child’s learning needs, establish goals, and communication partnership.
Hands on Education
Whether with culture adventures experiencing new countries - art explorations learning about different art movements and artists - or tutoring programs, all are curated for different age groups. Each adventure and learning experience offers the appropriate level of engagement for each student with hands-on materials. The materials and experiences are designed with interactive role playing, books, pictures and matching cards, writing, art projects, along with science experiments. Utilizing my expertise in Early Childhood Education and a Montessori teacher, I am excited to work with children in discovering new cultures, art movements, and “aha” moments for academic success.
Each Quarter is a new adventure!
Our 2024 winter adventure explored artists with Art Through Time by focusing on individual artists examining not only their artwork, but also the culture that shaped their art. Our spring adventure takes us to South Africa where we will explore the geography, history, people, culture and animals the make this country unique. In our history exploration, we will examine apartheid and its roots that influenced a constitution that was grounded in racism, and how Nelson Mandela became a beacon for change. Questions to ponder is how South Africa’s experiment with state sponsored racism mirrors those in other countries, and how the people resisted. Moving from apartheid, the animals of South Africa are source of pride and are protected with animals parks such as, The Kruger National Park. How do animal parks keep the animals safe? And, what can be done to include the indigenous people in their protection while creating economic stability? As with all our adventures, we will engage with open discussions, lively presentations, and hands-on activities to imprint the struggle and beauty of South Africa.
Tutoring in an individualized approach!
As a lifelong academic, I take pride in teaching children the joy of learning - especially when at times it can seem so hard. Using tried and true Montessori tactics, my hands-on materials, and the art-of-questioning approach to learning can help all children grasp even the hardest to learn topics. Drawing from my Early Childhood Education and Montessori background, I am specialized in phonetic sound and reading development, reading analysis, grammar, writing, mathematical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, place value, word problems, and linear counting.
