Weekly themes
Each quarterly adventure centers around a learning experience by journeying to a world country - or - examining art history. Each adventure will feature carefully designed activities. With our world countries adventure, we will discover the geography, history, and unique cultural qualities. The art history adventure will reveal art, cultural movements, and artists that shaped the world of art. Students learn through hands-on experiences which deepen their knowledge and supports concrete learning. Each week offers exciting activities, group collaboration, robust discussions, and cultural awareness.
Tutoring
Looking for that individualized academic boost on a specific subject for your child? Private tutoring sessions for 4-8 year-old children is designed to cultivate the joy-of-learning while building academic confidence. Carefully designed materials support learning through hands-on interaction between the lesson content and discovery. Prior to our tutoring sessions, I will meet with parents to identify your child’s learning needs, establish goals, and communication partnership.
Hands on Education
Whether with culture adventures experiencing new countries - art explorations learning about different art movements and artists - or tutoring programs, all are curated for different age groups. Each adventure and learning experience offers the appropriate level of engagement for each student with hands-on materials. The materials and experiences are designed with interactive role playing, books, pictures and matching cards, writing, art projects, along with science experiments. Utilizing my expertise in Early Childhood Education and a Montessori teacher, I am excited to work with children in discovering new cultures, art movements, and “aha” moments for academic success.
Each Quarter is a new adventure!
Our 2026 winter adventure will explore a collection of artists spanning throughout history. We will begin with Cave Art and the mystery behind the Paleolithic paintings and work our way to the 1600’s. In the 1600’s students will discover the application of dark and light chiaroscuro from Artemisia Gentileschi and how she found successful as a female artist during the Baroque movement. Leaving the 1660’s, our art journey will lead us to Katsushika Hokusai and his enchanting woodblock prints showcasing color and nature. After taking a meditative pause with Hokusai, students will delight in the Swedish artist, Hilma af Klint’s abstract shapes and forms in bold colors. Returning to the human form, we will examine the art of Amedeo Modigliani and his homage to Greek sculpture. Modigliani’s portraits exhibit facial features of long necks, narrow eyes, and beauty which parallels ancient Greek art. Our last artist in the collection to explore will be Louise Bourgeois and her thrilling spider sculptures. How can art be a medium to reveal inner feelings and emotions? With each artist, we will learn about not only the culture from that period, but also the biographical background of the artists and what inspired their work. As we discover the history of these artists, students will become artists through the art projects which will accompany the history telling. What will students’ art tell about our history in time?
Tutoring in an individualized approach!
As a lifelong academic, I take pride in teaching children the joy of learning - especially when at times it can seem so hard. Using tried and true Montessori tactics, my hands-on materials, and the art-of-questioning approach to learning can help all children grasp even the hardest to learn topics. Drawing from my Early Childhood Education and Montessori background, I am specialized in phonetic sound and reading development, reading analysis, grammar, writing, mathematical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, place value, word problems, and linear counting.
